Yin received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago under the supervision of Prof. Brian Chaplin. His research goals in the Ph.D. study were to develop new electrode materials for use in water treatment, and evaluate their performance and long-term stability using electrochemical methods. In the Bard group, he is working on the detection and characterization of hydroxyl radical using SECM.
